What's Your New Year Promise?
Well, it's coming up to that time again.
A New Year ahead and all thoughts turn to how we can do better, make a real difference and enjoy life to the full.
For some, a New Year signals a new start. Resolutions are made and January starts with all good intentions.
But we all know - from experience - that some of the promises and resolutions we make soon bite the dust.
As I see it, resolutions fail because we don't fully connect with the commitment we've made or because we set ourselves unrealistic goals.
It's usually the latter that creates the most problems.
When we set ourselves impossible targets, the pressure of keeping up with the commitment can become far too much to bear. Inevitably, the resolution fails to materialize.
So for this New Year, keep the big ambition in sight, but set yourself smaller, manageable goals.
Let me give you an example.
Perhaps you want to lose 20lbs in weight. Rather than focusing on the 20lbs, aim instead to lose a couple of pounds per week or fortnight. Work out a doable plan of action for doing just that.
Even allow for a motivational treat every week to keep you on target. This really does work! Before you know it, you'll have reached your main goal of losing 20lbs.

Give it a go!
And whatever promises you make for the New Year, don't forget to have fun as you go along.
May I wish you a joyful and beautiful New Year!
I hope it is full of love, adventure and brilliant times ahead.
