The Art of Stillness

Hello! Open-mouthed

How often do you experience stillness in this crazy, fast-paced world that we live in?

Chances are that you're always on the go and even when you think you're resting, your mind is probably racing with thoughts, ideas, and things to do.

Don't worry, that happens to us all. And that's the reason why it's all the more important to welcome regular moments of stillness into our lives.

What is stillness?

Well, some regard it as a quietness of the mind, body, and spirit. It's those rare moments where we just switch off and simply `be'.

Stillness helps us to live more in the moment. It also helps us to feel grounded, connected, and in touch with what really matters in life.

When you master stillness, you achieve an amazing clarity and become more empowered.

In fact, stillness is very underrated, especially in helping us improve our well-being.

So, how do we achieve stillness?

Well, meditation is a good start. Try the Meditation Program or try Relaxation CDs to help you switch off to the clutter of every day life.

As you move into stillness, you will start to experience an amazing transformation.

Why not start tapping into the stillness within you today?

Start off with ten minutes or so and discover what a difference it makes!

Practise Mindfulness

This may sound like a strange question...

But do you ever stop to think about what you're thinking?

Are you aware of all the jumbled thoughts that pass through your mind on a moment to moment basis?

The mind is such a complex piece of kit. Actually, it's much more than that. Its potential is more far-reaching than any computer - we just haven't fully mastered how to use it. In fact, a lot of mind-power goes to waste.

Even though we haven't fully mastered the workings of the mind, there is a lot we can do with the thoughts that we process every single moment.

For a start, we can practise mindfulness.

Fundamentally, mindfulness is being aware of what you think ... of all those random and not so random thoughts that go through your head. Mindfulness is listening to those thoughts and then choosing to respond in a way that is positive, nurturing and beneficial.

You see, the mind can harbor plenty of self-talk ... and some of that can be pretty negative at times. For example, if you're quite sensitive you can pick up on the moods of others and even on the mood of an entire nation.

And, if you're not mindful, negative feelings can easily escalate inside your head to the detriment of your well-being.

So, practising mindfulness is important, and is a way of maintaining a positive outlook even in the face of adversity.

Aldous Huxley said:

'There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self'.

By being mindful of your thoughts and intentions, you really can improve your experience of life.

I have to say that it's certainly made a difference to me.

Why not give it a try and let me know how you get on!

New Karl Moore Interview!

Today, I'd like to share a recent audio interview of mine!

I was recently contacted by famed British entrepreneur Mike Giles, about his next big thing: "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants."

He wanted to interview me for his site - and chat about how I'd worked to build two highly successful business, with one involved in some very interesting "talks" right now.

(More on that over the coming couple of months!)

Initially, I turned it down.

I'm a self-development guy. I'm about happiness, spirituality, freedom - not figures, balance sheets and taxation.

Then, when I realized that Mike wanted to focus on precisely that side... the inspiration, the self-development... behind the business, including my own life history... I cautiously agreed.

And we had a FANTASTIC interview.

So... here it is... exclusively for you...

My interview with Mike Giles, to be published as part of the "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" series.

Part 1:

Part 2:

(Can't see the audio players above? You're reading via RSS or e-mail. Visit www.karlblog.com to listen to the full thing.)

Well, that's all for now...

Enjoy - and I'll see you all again soon!  :)

Watch Your Focus

I don't tend to listen to the news.

It's not that I don't care about what's going on in the world, but I do feel that all the negative vibes that the media pipes out can have a detrimental effect.

In fact, studies suggest that listening to the news on a regular basis can make you fearful, depressed, anxious, angry and even paranoid!

You see, when you focus your attention on stories of calamity and woe, your spirit can so easily deflate. Energetically, you start attracting more of the same negativity into your own life.

Choosing not to watch the news isn't ignorance or indifference; it's choosing to embrace the positive in the world instead.

Because ... no matter what ... good and bad co-exist.

There will always be calamities and woe in the world whether you follow the news or not. Focusing on it to the point of creating anxiety within you only adds to the negative vibes.

You have a choice; so why not choose to focus on the good stuff?

There is plenty of it out there if you dare to look!

Watching what you focus on also applies to your experiences and choice of words on a daily basis.

To give you an example of focus in practice, consider the approach of an enlightened peace campaigner.

This gentle soul believed in peace but she wouldn't attend anti-war marches. However, she would attend pro-peace marches!

So what's the difference?

Well, it's subtle but actually quite profound! The mere mention of the word 'war' (even though it's anti-war) conjures up negative connotations whereas the word 'peace' has a much more positive focus.

Both marches are campaigning for peace but can you see the difference simply by changing the words from anti-war to pro-peace?

It's subtle but a good example of 'focus' in action.

So, as you go about your day, watch your focus.

Look for the positive – even in words.

And remember the saying – As you think, so shall you be!

Self Improvement - While You Sleep?!

When you sleep, you may think that your mind, body, and spirit are taking a bit of a break from everyday reality.

That's quite true but even while you appear to be idling, your whole `self' is still working to heal, repair, and improve. In fact, sleep is essential for your health and well-being.

But did you know that sleep is also a good time for learning and enhancing your positive vibes?

Yes, it's true! Sleep is actually the perfect time to improve your self on all kinds of levels.

Just by playing your chosen Sleep Programming CD before you go to sleep, your subconscious mind listens at the deepest level. Before long, you'll notice a difference in the way you think and feel!

No wonder it's used by so many successful people!

It really is quite powerful!

So, why not make better use of your sleep time?

This is a Great Day...

In fact, this is a wonderful day!

Why?

Well, actually, there's no particular reason!

It's just a good day to celebrate being alive.

And you know something ... we should have a GREAT DAY every single day!

We should aspire to making every day the best it can possibly be – not just for us, but for everyone.

The quickest and easiest way of making it a good day is to share a smile and a cheery greeting. It's simple, and it can make a difference!

So let me start by saying –with a huge smile - 'Hello you wonderful people!' Open-mouthed

The next best thing is to do a good deed ... because there's absolutely nothing like a kindness to make it feel like a great day.

So, here's my challenge to you: What are you going to do today to make this a GREAT DAY?

Are you ready to share a smile and a positive greeting?

Go to it! Show the world that they can have a great day too.

You never know ... this could catch on!

Red, Amber... Life!

The other day, I was sat in my car at the traffic lights waiting for the green light ... and it got me thinking ...

How many people are permanently stuck at a red light in their lives?

How many people are waiting to start their big adventure ... waiting for a sign to say 'you can go now!'?

I guess quite a few.

You might even be reading this and think ... hey, well actually, that's me ... still stuck waiting for the green light.

If so, then this post is especially for you because let me tell you ...

Your life doesn't have any traffic signals.

There is no one who can tell you when to start or, for that matter, when to stop. Only you can know!

Only you can decide when to start.

So, what are you waiting for?

You know something ... whatever it is you really want to do, you can begin it now!

Believe me ... you can!

So, why not get started?

... and when you have, don't forget to come back and tell us about your success story!
