Occasionally, I have one of those moments where I forget about the ordinary everyday clutter and start thinking about life, the universe and everything.
Do you have these moments too?
Yesterday, I started to think about what we humans are made of. Essentially, we are composed of the same material and elements that create the stars. Yes, it's absolutely true!
We are all effectively star children!
When you think about it, the fact that we are here at all is amazing. So amazing that you'd think we'd treasure each other and the world that we share.
In reality, we don't do enough to celebrate and protect the gift of life that we have. Just imagine how better the world could be if we did!
The fact that we are all children of the stars - an incredible assembly of chemicals and elements and particles - makes me realize how connected we are and what a difference we can make in the world.
It's in these moments when life starts to make real sense. All the little problems and frustrations of everyday life disappear. Instead, I'm left focusing on the potential of what it is to be human and what it is to be a child of the stars.
So, next time you look up on a clear night, just remember that you, too, are also a little star...
And have what it takes to shine brightly on this wonderful planet.

It's an interesting question and your answer can prove to be quite revealing.
You see, if you consider yourself to be a survivor then it appears that you see life as being a struggle, one that you've had to toil over or made sacrifices for.
Survivors tend to believe that life is one obstacle after another that they have to overcome.
If you consider yourself to be an adventurer, then life has a completely different outlook ... life is full of excitement, abundance and wonderful places to explore.
Adventurers believe that life is full of amazing experiences that they can enthusiastically embrace.
What you choose can make a difference to your outlook on life.
Adventurers tend to have a much more positive experience – even if some of their escapades appear to have been a lesson in survival!
Survivors, on the other hand, tend to have more negative experiences. They think life is going to be tough and, inevitably, it is.
'We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities'.
We create our journey ... we decide whether it will be an exercise in survival or a wonderful adventure.
I don't know about you but I am fascinated by the secrets for health and longevity passed down through ancient cultures.
There's just so much to discover!
It's often the case that the old ways are the best. And there's nothing more exciting than coming across those gems of knowledge and wisdom, which have been long forgotten.
So, as you can imagine, I was thrilled when I stumbled across The Five Rituals.
This secret for looking and feeling more than 30 years' younger comes from a little-known culture in the Himalayas.
By following these five rituals, you can knock the years off your age and feel in the best shape ever within weeks!
The improvement that can be gained is on all levels too! Muscles feel stronger, mind feels sharper, your agility increases, and you can look so much fresher and brighter.
Don't believe me?
Just read the amazing story behind The Five Rituals and follow the course.
Now, in the self-development world, everybody knows that meditation is GOOD.
It can bring a million untold benefits. And yet how many of us truly have time to quieten our minds for hours on end each day?
Well, that's where the Brain Evolution System comes in.
The Brain Evolution System - or BrainEv, for short - uses something known as "brainwave entrainment" to help skip years of unnecessary meditation.
It uses specially manipulated sounds to help influence brainwaves, putting the mind into a deep state of meditation within minutes of listening - removing the need for countless hours of mind-quietening, Zen-monk-like practice.
But we've heard all of this before - with ineffective programs such as Holosync and Hemi-Sync.
What sets BrainEv apart from it's competitors, claim the developers, is it's patent-pending 3 Point Dynamic Entrainment Audio Process. This means BrainEv uses three different entrainment methods at the same time - stopping the brain getting too accustomed to one particular pattern, and more closely-matching how brainwaves really work.
Sounds impressive... But does the Brain Evolution System really live up to its claims?
Well, to put it to the test - I decided to try it myself for two whole months!
Now, before even using the program, I was impressed at the integrity of the company. I was immediately given a free 21-day trial of level one, with an option to cancel before I was billed a single cent.
So, I tried it out.
The first level can only be described as a true soundscape. With it's natural, "distant" etheric feel, you could tell a million things were going on in the background - yet couldn't help but just relax and let them float by.
Now, I've listened to a lot of relaxation music - so I'm used to trickling waterfalls and singing bowls. But this audio was genuinely POWERFUL. You could feel it working, influencing your brainwaves, and helping you to relax further.
It's recommended you listen to each 30-minute level once per day, six days a week, for a whole month. Then you move onto the next level - finishing all six levels within six months.
Well, after my first listening session, I instantly felt more relaxed.
My head was less "foggy" - and I enjoyed a focus and clarity I'd not experienced in quite some time. It's hard to explain, however I had a smile on my face - and didn't really know why!
I continued throughout the first month - and saw a truly noticeable difference in my behavior. I became more and more relaxed and calm. My brain seemed to operate faster, and I became more quick-witted. My confidence continued to improve, without any real effort.
Then, near the end of the first month, the full CD package landed at my door.
This was a professionally-packaged six-CD brainwave entrainment package, with a user guide, and a free two month supply of the mind-sharpening Acuity supplement - specially designed to help "fuel" the mind when using BrainEv.
During the second month, I worked with level two. And I can honestly say that - again - I began noticing real differences.
Now, I'm not a person that enjoys writing positive reviews. It's much easier to slander than praise. But once again, the Brain Evolution System made a very definite, positive impact.
Colleagues commented on my permanent state of happiness. I felt much more relaxed, even during the most stressed-out periods of my day. My thinking speed DEFINITELY increased - and the tablets helped boost my focus even further. Creative spurts increased. My reading speed rocketed. I found myself coming up with more elegant solutions to problems. I also found myself soaking up information more rapidly than before.
And another thing: I began waking up after just five hours of sleep. This simple meditation program was reducing my usual EIGHT HOURS down to just five - thanks to 30 minutes of listening, six times a week.
So, does the Brain Evolution System work?
During my two-month trial, it genuinely delivered an impressive set of results - all exactly as promised.
It helped SHARPEN my mind, REDUCE my stress levels, and INCREASE my energy.
The developers claim that's down to the fact that it utilizes a "3 Point Dynamic Entrainment Audio Process" to influence brainwaves. They provide a series of fancy graphics and video features to explain it all in greater detail. They even provide online support videos for each progressive level.
I'm not entirely sure what all of that really means.
But what I do know is that the Brain Evolution System helped clear the foggy mind of a usually critical reviewer.
And - at least for me - that's worth the price-tag a hundred times over.
(Oh, and yes - you can be sure I'll continue using this package right through to level six!)
BrainEv Pros: Powerful results, professional package, round-the-clock support.
BrainEv Cons: Still requires 30 minutes of your time, 6 days a week.
Every now and then, something happens that breaks through our defences and threatens to overwhelm us.
Only the other day someone said something random – just a passing remark - that I took to heart a little and made my confidence dip.
Now I know that I had a choice about how to respond to that comment. And normally, I choose to let such negative thoughts go.
But I was feeling a bit tired ... and a bit low on energy ... and, well, the thought just slipped through, and knocked on the door of my self-worth.
It happens.
Sometimes, a thought, comment or action will pass through your defences, and you respond by feeling under attack.
When this happens, I exercise a counter-strategy. You could say that it's my back-up for such times when my defences have been breached.
I take the thought ... in this case, the response to the comment that knocked my confidence ... and ZAP IT with some positive, loving, joyful light rays.
I visualize these positive, loving, joyful light rays neutralizing the negative thought and then changing its energy into something infinitely more optimistic.
I then think of all the positive experiences that I've had that have contributed to making me the person I am today.
It works a treat. Before you know it, those negative thoughts that have broken through your defences have been zapped for good.
So, next time you feel under attack, ZAP those negative thoughts with some positive, loving, joyful light rays.

I was only thinking the other day how eccentric some of our most genius minds tend to be.
The greatest scientists, artists, writers and thinkers of times past and present all seem to share a trait for being unconventional or seemingly a little eccentric to say the least.
They tend to be outspoken too ... often rebelling against atrocities or injustice and speaking openly for truth, peace and the future of humanity - regardless of the risks.
Albert Einstein was one such genius, renowned for his eccentricity and for his honest views and passionate outbursts.
Another genius ... who sadly wasn't really recognized as such in his lifetime ... is English poet, painter and printmaker, William Blake.
Born November 28th 1757, Blake has since become known as one of England's greatest poets. Interested in mysticism and a passionate rebel against the harsh realities of life, he channeled his energies through his creative works.
When he was young, it is said that he encountered a vision of angels and these visions returned throughout his life, inspiring much of his work.
Apart from his compassion, his genius was that he could see beyond the ordinary world with visions that have since inspired generations.
In his poem, from Auguries of Innocence, he wrote a verse that continues to touch so many of us:
"To see a world in a grain of sand And heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour."
Isn't that so beautiful and profound?
And yet, William Blake was considered quite mad by his contemporaries.
Blake died on August 12 1827 and is said to be buried in an unmarked grave.
It's only now in modern times his genius is truly recognized.
If you can, take time out today to learn more about Blake - and enjoy :)
I love to learn about other people's achievements...
And I'm always amazed and motivated by what just one person can do in a lifetime.
One such person who has recently inspired me is Satish Kumar.
The former Jain monk, inspired by Gandhi's vision, left his wandering brotherhood at the age of 18 to campaign for peace.
He embarked on a dangerous and tough 8,000 mile peace pilgrimage, whereby he walked from India to America without any money to deliver packets of 'peace tea' to the leaders of four nuclear powers.
Later, in 1973, Satish settled in England to become editor of Resurgence magazine. He continued his work for peace and helped establish many spiritual, ecological and educational ventures.
In his 50th year, Satish undertook another pilgrimage - this time covering a more modest 2000 miles visiting the holy places of Britain to celebrate his love of nature and life.
Again, he did so without money!
Satish has written several books (You Are, Therefore I Am and Spiritual Compass to name but two) and made a highly acclaimed documentary for the BBC for the Natural World series. In this, he shared some of his wonderful philosophy for humanity to the backdrop of the Dartmoor landscape where he spends much of his time in contemplation.
In this documentary, and in his books, you gain a glimpse of Satish Kumar's peaceful, loving spirit - and of his inspiring wisdom.
Today, Satish continues to work to promote spiritual and ecological values. His entire life has been dedicated to the vision of a more loving and peaceful world and this is just one of the reasons that he is such an inspiration.
And to crown it all, he comes across as a very gentle, kind and loving human being - a role model for us all.

It’s the desire to find your own freedom. To connect with your own sense of worth, and integrity, and happiness. To enjoy abundance.
But for most people, self-development remains just that. A quest. A journey. They never reach that point of realization, when all of the pieces fit together and they can finally stop “seeking.”
They watched What the Bleep and The Secret. They attended the overseas holistic healing workshops. They bought the costly four-digit CD courses. They continued seeking, but they never found.
Their quest was honourable – and yet the search for self-development, the desire for freedom, was left unsatisfied.
This book is where the journey ends.
It’s a simple collection of 16 “pep talks” to help you reconnect with your own true freedom, and to remove all of the crazy “rules” that you’ve built up so far during your journey.
It’s a book that will remove your own self-limitations, and break down any imaginary walls that are stopping you achieving greatness. It’ll clear the grey clouds in your world, and show you the sun that was always shining just behind them.
This commonsense book will reconnect you with your own spirituality, your happiness, and your wonder for the world.
That’s my promise.
The self-development world is crammed full of seekers.
You, however, are about to become a finder.
So, read on, and enjoy!

On Monday, I launched three fantastic self-help books.
Three books guaranteed to change your life - all released simultaneously, across the globe. I'm pretty sure it was the first time that's ever been done.
“Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in this world.” - Helen Keller
Oh, come on. Admit it.
We all do it every single day.
Everybody enjoys wallowing in a little self-pity. It feels great to remind ourselves how terrible the world is. How we've not been given the right opportunities. How people are against us. How life has been a real struggle this past year.
Right?
But here's a true secret to happiness. And it's probably the biggest, easiest and quickest happiness secret you'll stumble across. Ever.
If you want to be happy – just stop feeling sorry for yourself.
Self-pity, you see, is the worst kind of emotion. It eats up everything around, except itself. It leaves itself standing in the middle, feeling sorry for how poorly life has been treating it.
We've all felt like that, right?
Maybe you feel like life has dealt you a bad hand. Perhaps you've lost money, family or health. It could be that you've missed out on so many opportunities that others have been easily granted – and you think that fate really HAS been unfair to you.
And that viewpoint might even be 100% correct.
But STOP feeling sorry for yourself.
It's not going to help the situation. It'll only help you to wallow in a state of apathy, playing the victim. The kind of person that things happen to, but that can't do anything about it. By stopping feeling sorry for yourself, you can actually get on and DO something about it.
Trust me on this one. This is the biggest ever technique for putting a smile onto your face.
If you're wondering how to be happy – the answer is to stop feeling sorry for yourself.
You could close this book right now and you'd already hold the wisdom of ten thousand self-development courses, and double that number of self-help gurus.
And it's so simple. In fact, it's worth repeating (and rewording) one more time:
Stop feeling sorry for yourself – and you will be happy.
Some of the most inspirational people of times -past and present - have provided us with some wonderful and thought-provoking sayings that can really `hit home' when needed.
Well, one such quote I wish to share with you today is by Winston Churchill.
He said:
"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved!"
Isn't that profound?
Well, today, I want to say to you ... choose your destiny!
How's your day going? Are you loving the work that you do?
There is nothing worse than getting caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day and just drifting along. You must not let this happen.
You need to dream and dream big, and then you will need to take ACTION. You need to go after your passions and do the work you were born to do otherwise you will end up looking back at your life and thinking, what if...
So dream on. Think big; take action, work hard, have patience and you will achieve your dreams!
Go out there and love the work that you do!
Here is a video of Gary Vaynerchuk of the Wine Library avidly telling us to do the work we are passionate about:
