What a great philosophy to start off the new year! I've been interested in reading that book for a while. Since reading the "18 Rules", I learned to say "screw it" quite often. It's very freeing. Thanks Karl and a happy new year to ya!

I'm just wondering if this works because it's the one word that everyone's mum told their children never to say. I think "Sod off" works better for me. Besides, as a mom, what kind of example am I giving my impressionable child?

Hi Karl,
I agree with Garbski regarding an impressionable child. I don't think I want my little 2 year old saying that word at daycare!
However "Bugger It" is a good one for me. I am Australian!
I completely agree with the concept, however sometimes it is hard to do when you associate with people that are stress heads!
See you back here soon!

You don't *have* to use f*ck it at all. You could just "let go."
But it's a nice equivalent, a quick way of explaining it to those that perhaps don't quite "get" releasing.

Interesting an humorous way of condensing all the mysticism of eastern philosophy into a two-word phrase that us westerners can understand.
