The Voice of Truth

Today, I'd like to share a fantastic little video with you, from modern Christian music band, Casting Crowns.

You don't need to be a Christian to enjoy this song. It's all about courage - and it'll inspire you, I guarantee it.

So, will you choose to listen - and believe the voice of truth?

Improve Your Music

I had a great friend visit this Saturday.

And he discussed with me how music is the single thing that spans all countries and cultures.

It's a way of communicating that our brains understand on a very deep level.

By association, music can also often put you into a certain mood.

Play some Chet Baker from "Playing By Hearts" for example - and you'll find it hard to stop the tears streaming from my eyes.

Other songs put me into that wonderous "FEEL GREAT - ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE!" mood.

Today, I'd like to share a few of my favourite "YAY!" songs with you - to help get you into a great mood, too.

In the self-development world, people undervalue the importance of being surrounded by great music.

It's a form of motivation - and motivation, like showering (says Zig Ziglar), should be done daily.

(Now if you're reading this by e-mail, you won't be able to see the videos. So visit http://www.karlblog.com/ to tune in!)

So, here goes... starting with my current favourite, from The Kooks...

New Music @ Sax FM

One of my favourite types of music is smooth, upbeat jazz.

It's the kind of mellow chill-out that you can listen to over and over again, wherever you are, whatever you're doing.

It's truly beautiful -- and some of you may know that back in 2006, I put together Sax FM at www.saxfm.com -- my own online radio station dedicated to such great, feel-good music.

Well, we've been revamping the site - and now have a whole selection of fresh music from a number of large jazz artists, including new smooth sensation Travis Vega.

It's free to listen, and there are absolutely NO ads.

So, why not take the time out to tune in online.

Just visit www.saxfm.com - and get ready for happiness in your ears :)

Enjoy! smile_teeth

The Karl Blog.com Song!

It's about time this blog had it's own theme tune.

That's why myself, Artist X and his gang have been working furiously over the past couple of months to create "This Time" ... the official song of Karl Blog.com!

Below, you can find details of the entire experience -- including studio shots, lyrics, and more.

I helped write the lyrics and style the song... and you can hear "Karl Blog!" sung repeatedly at the end of the track.

It's beautiful! :)

And this inspirational little song is coming your way tomorrow.

Want to listen to the studio chatter, and hear a sneak preview of different parts of the song?

Click HERE to listen to the behind-the-scenes chatter!

Karl Blog.com Song Lyrics

I’m free just like the sky above
like the space between ourselves and us
it’s all around you

I let go of the voice inside
no need to cling to thoughts and time
there’s nothing to hold onto

and it feels so nice
to be here in this space and time
and you and I
lose ourselves outside our minds
and love
a feeling that is deep inside
and I feel alright
happy just to be alive
this time

each moments rises right on time
they never miss a beat and I
go with the flow around me

you can’t touch me where I am
I’m further from the place I’ve been
just wait and soon we’ll all see

and it feels so nice
to be here in this space and time
and you and I
lose ourselves outside our minds
and love
a feeling that is deep inside
and I feel alright
happy just to be alive
this time

It’s always morning somewhere in the world
wherever you may roam
There’s nothing good or bad here at all
but thinking makes it so
If you always do what you’ve always done
you’ll get more of what you’ve had
A ship is safe in harbor but that’s not what it’s for
live each day like it’s the last

Listen to Sax FM!

I love great music.

And perhaps my favourite genre is smooth, upbeat jazz.

It's the perfect background sound.

That's why a couple of years ago, I launched Sax FM.

It's my small attempt at sharing some of my favourite smooth tunes with the world.

No advertisements. No signup fee. No crackly AM-like sound.

Just great sounding music to brighten your day.

I'd be honoured if you checked it out online at http://www.saxfm.com/

And enjoy :)

Thou Shall Enjoy

Somewhere in Antwerp lays a little restaurant, right next to the cathedral.

It's called "Elfde Gebod."

Or "The Eleventh Commandment."

My friend, musician Scott Johnson, who recently donated many of his songs to Self Dev Radio, was recently eating there with his wife -- and asked a waitress what the Eleventh Commandment was.

She replied...

"Thou Shall Enjoy!"

It inspired Scott so much he wrote a song about it. It's a brilliant little number.

Scott has given me permission to post it on my blog today.

Have a listen. It's addictive.

Really hear the words.

And make sure you observe the Eleventh Commandment, at least for today.

Learn more about Scott's work online at http://www.googolpress.com/.

Thou Shall Enjoy! :)

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Just a quick post today :)

I want to express my thanks to international "busker" Peter Jones for donating all of the music from his great album "Sunshine Up Ahead" for use on Self Dev Radio and Writers FM.

I absolutely fell in love with the track "Sunshine Up Ahead" and wrote to Peter over the weekend. He wrote back, sending his entire album, and granting full permission to use any of his stuff.

Wow! :O

To listen to "Sunshine Up Ahead", visit my blog homepage at www.karlblog.com and scroll down to the red music player on the right-hand side of the page. Click on "Sunshine Up Ahead" to listen. It's a great song.

PLUS....

A brand new Self Dev Radio interview is now online, with self-help author Guy Finley.

Guy has sold over a million books, hosted over 4000 self-development conferences - and he's just launched his massive new 16-CD album, "The Secrets of Being Unstoppable."

The interview is now playing live at Self Dev Radio - and you can download your copy by clicking here. Or learn more about Guy online at www.guyfinley.com.

That's all from me. Enjoy your Sunday! :)

Picture Postcards from LA

A quick post today... with a little musical recommendation :)

You may remember Joshua Kadison from the early 90's.

He wrote that great song "Jessie," one of the Magic AM favourites.

To refresh your memory, the chorus goes: "Jessie, paint your pictures, 'bout how it's going to be... By now I should know better, your dreams are never free... But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea... Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me."

(As a small sidenote, Kadison apparently wrote the song about Sarah Jessica Parker, the lead carnal sinner in Sex in the City.)

Well, I'm writing today to recommend his album of the same name: JESSIE.

This isn't his latest album -- and that's good for you, as it means you can grab a copy for just a few units of whatever currency you're using. And the songs are tireless.

Jessie... Beautiful in my Eyes... and Picture Postcards from LA.

They're simply beautiful.

And so today, I'd really like to recommend this collection.

Joshua Kadison is one talented singer and musician, and if you have a few pounds in your pocket today, I can think of no better way to spend it.

Click HERE to check out the CD at Amazon USA, or click HERE if you live in the UK.

A Picture Postcard from LA :)

PS. I actually just spoke to Joshua Kadison this afternoon! No kidding. I asked about his spiritual journey. He replied: "Right now all I know is, I think this whole universe thing is about joy ;-)" -- Good answer. Who wouldn't buy his CD based on that response?

Artist X Update!

A quick update on the Artist X front.

Artist X has just released a new site called Play It Forward, his attempt at getting one million people to listen to "All Things Subside" within 90 days.

It's a neat concept - based on the film Pay It Forward - and I'd urge you to have a listen.

Here's the link: http://www.playmysongforward.com/

I've used his music many times at Self Dev Radio and Writers FM. He was kind enough to donate it to our station. I've since become something of a fan! :)

Artist X Album Launches

Today, I'd like to pay thanks to a special guy.

Except... I don't exactly know who he is.

And, if I'm totally honest, I can't be 100% certain that "he" is even a guy.

Artist X is a singer and musician that prefers not to reveal his identity. He does so because it equates to ego... And he wants his music to mean something for what it is, and not because of his groovy new hairstyle, or for the fact that he's dating Britney Spears.

Which he's not, incidentally. Or maybe he is. Who knows.

But his music... is really fantastic.

Today, January 23rd, he launches his debut album, "Light."

It costs just a few bucks... And if you listen very carefully, the words just might resonate at a really deep level for you. I've featured his music during some of my interviews (such as the one with Hale Dwoskin and Randy Ingermanson).

He has a number of great new songs out too, such as "Smile."

They're spiritual, magical, wonderful.

Even I don't know who Artist X is.

But I know that his music really makes sense.

Learn more about his work online at http://www.artistxmusic.com/ or get a preview online at http://www.myspace.com/artistxsongs
